Tempeh

Tempeh has a special place within Vida. In addition to regular tempeh, we also produce organic tempeh. We fully support this nutritious product, which requires a lot of care and attention during development.

According to the Nutrition Center, it is better for health and the environment to eat less meat. This lowers the risk of disease and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The Nutrition Center mentions tempeh as a good substitute for meat, because it contains many nutrients. Consumers are also increasingly experiencing this.

To meet the increasing demand, we have decided to increase our capacity. Vida expanded the building at the end of 2020. A large part of this extension is intended for the preparation and packaging of the final end product.

What is tempeh?

Tempeh is a fermented soybean product. Under the influence of a fungal culture, soybeans grow into the solid structure of tempeh. The end product consists of 40% protein and is also rich in iron, minerals and vitamin B. In addition, the product is easily digestible and low in calories. Finally, tempeh is cholesterol-free and gluten-free. A responsible choice!

Popularity

Tempeh is becoming increasingly popular not only because of its healthy nutrients, but also because of the properties of this product. It has a neutral taste, but absorbs other flavors very well. This makes it possible to marinate with different herbs. After grilling, baking, stir-frying or a while in the oven, the product can be added to various dishes. From main meals to soups and salads. Everything is possible.
