Private Label

We primarily produce under private labels (both national and store brands). You can rely on us for the development and production of your own product. We offer advice on food safety and shelf life, ensuring that our products meet all the standards set by supermarket chains and wholesalers. You can also provide your own recipe, and we will prepare and package the product for you.

Vida's own producs

In 1960, Grandfather Daan began producing tempeh, a plant-based protein made from soybeans. This fermented food originates from Indonesia, where he was born. The production of tempeh quickly expanded to include international spice mixes and sauces. We still carry these products in our range. A small selection of Indonesian rice table products is sold under the 'Vida' name to restaurants, toko’s, and wholesalers.

Vida Food can package and fill products in many different ways. This includes packaging in glass jars or bottles, tubs, pouches, sachets, buckets, jerry cans and bulk packaging (IBCs).

Products

Tempeh

Tempeh holds a special place at Vida. In addition to producing regular tempeh, we also produce organic tempeh. We fully support this nutritious product, which requires a lot of care and attention during its development.

According to the Nutrition Centre, reducing meat consumption is better for both health and the environment. It lowers the risk of diseases and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The Nutrition Centre recommends tempeh as a good meat substitute because it is rich in nutrients, a fact increasingly recognized by consumers.

To meet the growing demand, we have decided to expand our capacity. At the end of 2020, Vida expanded its facility, dedicating a large portion of the new space to preparing and packaging the final product.

What is tempeh?

Tempeh is een gefermenteerd sojabonenproduct. Onder invloed van een schimmelcultuur groeien sojabonen uit tot de vaste structuur van tempeh. Het eindproduct bestaat voor 40% uit eiwitten en is verder rijk aan ijzer, mineralen en vitamine B. Daarnaast is het product licht verteerbaar en caloriearm. Tot slot is tempeh cholesterol- en glutenvrij. Een verantwoorde keuze!

Popularity

Tempeh is becoming increasingly popular not only because of its healthy nutrients, but also because of the properties of this product. It has a neutral taste, but absorbs other flavors very well. This makes it possible to marinate with different herbs. After grilling, baking, stir-frying or a while in the oven, the product can be added to various dishes. From main meals to soups and salads. Everything is possible.

High quality & food safety

One of the most important points within our company is quality. Vida meets the strictest requirements regarding food safety. To guarantee quality, we have our own quality department and we also seek external advice on developments in that area. We take all possible precautions to guarantee quality.

We can underline this with the fact that we have been complying with the GFSI standard (global food safety initiative) for more than fifteen years. We are currently FSSC22000, SKAL and RSPO certified. We also comply with the HACCP standards. This makes it possible, among other things, to deliver to all supermarkets.

If a different certification is required, for example for export to a country that requires a different certification, we can of course discuss the options.
